Erica Conway is a 21-year-old, Textile & Apparel Design student, at the College of the North Atlantic. After being raised in a small rural Newfoundland town, she takes inspiration from nature and her family.
Her grandmother, and great aunts often showed her how to paint and do crafts growing up which helped to define her love for art from a young age.
She says she does not remember a time where she was not creating and expressing herself through art.
" My work all revolve around the same theme of home and family. Growing up in rural Newfoundland I became inspired by the wildflowers and scenery surrounding my home by walking through the woods, on beaches and through my own gardens. I have always been inspired by nature and fell in love with natural dyes at the beginning of this program. I like the idea of creating dye from these plants that were abundant around me."
