While exploring the outdoors, I am always intrigued by the intricate, magnificent, endless details that make up our beautiful Earth. My process involves capturing that beauty with photography using only natural light. I use my love of drawing to explore the images further. This allows me to reflect on my experiences and use emotional connections to create marks on paper in response. I love experimenting with and combining drawing implements; soft pastels are one of my favourite mediums. They inspire my exploration into textiles. The softness of colour brings my scenes from life and drawings, into studies hand dyeing natural fabrics, and applying embroidery techniques. I want to create work that accurately reflects my intense appreciation, admiration and awe of our natural surroundings.
